HISTORY
“ICU Girişim Sermayesi Yatırım Ortaklığı A.Ş” (ICU Venture Capital Trust-ICUGS), whose shares are traded on Borsa Istanbul, is an investment trust subject to the Capital Markets Board of Türkiye legislation. Established in 1996 as the first venture capital investment trust in Türkiye, the trust focuses on innovative, technology-centered, high-development potential enterprises that target sector and market leadership and aims to provide value to all its stakeholders with the investments it makes.
The trust has determined its purpose as providing management knowledge and capital contribution to companies with competitive advantages in sectors with growth potential to develop projects that will contribute to the Turkish economy, ensuring that entrepreneurs benefit from this knowledge and experience in the most appropriate way by deploying the collective resources it has, as well as contributing to the corporate development of venture companies with effective portfolio management and exemplary corporate structure, providing higher earnings to its stakeholders than other investment alternatives.
“ICU Venture Capital Trust was established in 1996, as “Vakıf Risk Sermayesi Yatırım Ortaklığı A.Ş.” as the first company in the sector under the leadership of Türkiye Vakıflar Bankası T.A.O. The company’s title was changed to Vakıf Girişim Sermayesi Yatırım Ortaklığı A.Ş. in accordance with the amendment made to the Capital Markets Legislation in 2004. In 2010, the Company’s title was changed Rhea Girişim Sermayesi Yatırım Ortaklığı A.Ş./Rhea Venture Capital Trust with the acquisition of the (A) group shares, which were put up for sale in parallel with the strategic vision of Türkiye Vakıflar Bankası T.A.O., by Rhea Group in 2009. In 2022, the transfer of the Group A shares to the ICU Group was carried out. Following this development, the Company’s title became ICU Girişim Sermayesi Yatırım Ortaklığı A.Ş./ICU Venture Capital Trust in 2023.
“ICU Venture Capital Trust” which has been restructured in accordance with its purpose of establishment, continues to invest in projects that contribute to the development of the Turkish economy and work with the aim of generating high profits for its stakeholders.
